The parent app – easy access to important School information

You can access the system from a smartphone, tablet or PC – anytime, anywhere.

What will you find in the SIMS Parent app?

  • Important information such as attendance and achievements.
  • Access to your child's timetable.
  • Access your child’s trackpoints.
  • Access to update your contact details, so we always have the most up-to-date information in case of emergency.

If you have more than one child at School, you’ll have access to information for all your children from the same app.

The information that you receive through the app will help you to stay up-to-date with your child’s School life as well as support your child’s development and progress.

The links below will take you to guides that you can read online or download that will guide you through the process from setting up to a tour of the key areas.

At the bottom of this page are links to download the Parent App or take you to the Parent App webpage, although remember, you can only access this after you have registered an account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Parents of new year 7 students will automatically be invited in the September that their child starts.

If you have been missed, we apologise. Please email our dedicated support email address (sims@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk) and request an account.

You can also use that address if you need other help. Don’t forget to include your name, your child’s name and data of birth in your request. We need this information to verify your identity.

First you have to register using the link in the invitation email. This will associate one of your existing accounts (Microsoft / Twitter/ Facebook / Google) with the app.

Then you can choose to use the web version or install the app which is the how the service was designed to be used.

When you complete your school application the details you enter are used to populate the SIMS database. If you use slightly different details on the second child to those you used the first time around then the database can't link your two sets of data together. In this case please email the dedicated support address  (sims@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk) and tell us the names and dates of birth of both of your children. We can look into it and correct hte details to link all the accounts together.

In order for us to be able to send out the Parent App invitation email we need your email address. Please contact the school at sims@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk.

If another parent already has the app then they can update your details on the data collection sheet.

The invitation will come from noreply@sims.co.uk (not from the school) so make sure you check your spam and junk folders for emails from this address.

Invitations expire after a period of time so register your account as soon as possible after receiving it. An old invitation may well have expired.

If you need a new invitation then please email SIMS@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk with your full name and the child’s name, DoB and Year group so we can identify you.

We will then send a new invitation to the email address we have registered already. You can update your email address if you need to by using the app (once registered or by contacting the year office).

We don’t manage the login details for the new Parent App now. You should be able to sign in using your own logins that you used at registration. These logins could be your Facebook / Gmail / Twitter / Apple / Microsoft. For example, if you registered with your Facebook account then you login to the Parent App with your Facebook username and password. If the App doesn’t let you log in please try the following:

  1. Do you remember which of your accounts (Facebook / Gmail / Apple / Twitter / Microsoft) you originally registered with? You can only login using those account usernames and passwords. If you changed the password for this account, then its the new one you use.
  2. Log in on the Parent App website at https://www.sims-parent.co.uk/ with your registered account (Apple / Facebook / Gmail / Twitter / Microsoft).
  3. Does it let you log in? If not please check that you can log in to your Facebook / Gmail / Twitter / Microsoft account as the Parent App uses those credentials. If you don’t remember these login details you’ll have to reset your Facebook / Gmail / Twitter / Microsoft account passwords.
  4. If you can login on the Parent App website then you can move on to try the Parent App on your smart phone. Please make sure that the Parent App is installed on your mobile.
  5. Please make sure when using the Parent App that any browser apps are closed and not running. Start the Parent App and try signing in again. Does it work this time?

The registration email can only be used once. Once you have registered you then use the details from your identity provider. Once you have successfully registered the original email should be deleted.

Parents/carers should register with the remaining options for example with a Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft or Twitter account. This has the benefit of using your existing email details for the Parent App. It will also speed up logging in as you are likely to already have those details stored in your phone.

If you choose to use the SIMS ID option then you will need to make sure you remember the username and password. The .

Yes. The Parent App can be accessed via the App on a smart phone or website here: https://www.sims-parent.co.uk

The web version looks very similar to what the App itself looks like. If you feel it is more comfortable for you to use the Parent App on your tablet or on your laptop then this version is better for you.

No because each SIMS Parent App login is individual to the parent. Each parent will need a separate login via a separate email account.

Please send your name and email address to sims@poolehigh.poole.sch.uk. We will resend your invitation email enabling you to re-register.

No. For data protection reasons, only people who have parental responsibility and are recorded as priority 1 or priority 2 are able to have an account. Please see https://www.gov.uk/parental-rights-responsibilities/who-has-parental-responsibility for explanations of the rules on parental responsibility. If you have applied for and been granted parental responsibility then please ensure the school has been sent copies of the documentation.

If the Data Collection Sheet is not visible from SIMS Parent for your child, you may not meet the criteria required for submitting changes to your child's account. A registered child contact must live at the same address as the child in order to be eligible to make updates to the Data Collection Sheet.

If you can see the Data Collection Sheet but it is locked (a padlock icon will be displayed), the Data Collection Sheet has been previously submitted and is waiting for a school administrator to authorise and apply the changes. Once the changes have been applied, the Data Collection Sheet will become available again.
