Today our year 10 and 11 GCSE Dance students were lucky enough to take part in Capoeira workshops given by Doriana Cellura, a Capoeira teacher and “player” that linked directly to the study of A Linha Curva, one of our professional set works.  We all had a lot of fun, albeit exhausting.  Capoeira originates from when African slaves were brought over to work in South America and was devised as a way of practicing fighting under the cover of dance and music.  It was a real privilege to learn from such an expert.  Thanks to Pavilion Dance South West for organising for us as one of their Dream Associate Schools.
