Our Results

To help parents appreciate the confident track record of achievement that Poole High School provides, we have outlined some detail for both the 2020 and 2019 results.

SUMMER 2020

Key Stage 4 & Sixth Form

GCSE results in 2020 were awarded using Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs). We undertook this process with great care and diligence to ensure all students received a fair and balanced set of results that enabled progression to their next stage of education. Once again our progress placed us in a highly favourable position nationally; more important – even more students attained strong passes in English and Maths than in previous years. The year-on year trend of continuous incremental improvement is testament to the highest standard of teaching for pupils of all abilities.

At Post-16, we celebrated a record 72% of our large sixth form progressing to university. We are particularly proud that 21% of our applicants gained a place at a range of prestigious Russell Group universities. Popular courses our brilliant students have selected for university study this year include Business & Management, Law, Biomedical Science, History, Computer Science, and Criminology.

With over 82% of all our sixth form students achieving a grade A*-C at A-Level, students have once again achieved strongly. Congratulations to all Poole High School alumni!

Our large school and sixth form enables us to provide our students with an unprecedented level of choice when compared to other local providers for post-16 study. All our courses are expertly delivered by highly skilled subject specialists. Applications for September 2021 are now open – click here to find out more.

96% of our students stay on in education or enter employment after their GCSE studies. Our strong links with the local business community fortify our position as an excellent progression route for apprenticeships and employers.
